Strategy

Lequent Strategy sets direction and then executes on it. Five units cover corporate strategy and development, deal and capital advisory, supply chain and procurement, sustainability and ESG, and government relations. Frontier markets move faster than planning cycles allow, so the work is built to be revisited. One question sits underneath it: where should the company put its capital, and what has to be true for that to pay off.

What this is.

Strategy in frontier sectors has a shorter half-life than in most industries. A regulation changes, a competitor’s cost curve drops, a supply route closes, and the three-year plan needs rebuilding. The useful output is not a document. It is a position the board can defend and revise.

Five units cover it. Corporate Strategy & Development sets direction and shapes the portfolio. Deal & Capital Advisory handles what gets bought, sold or funded. Supply Chain & Procurement deals with where the inputs come from and what happens when they stop. Sustainability & ESG turns reporting obligations into decisions with financial consequences. Government Relations manages the regulators and public bodies who often decide whether a frontier market opens at all.

Those last two carry more weight here than elsewhere. In hydrogen, defence, orbital systems or advanced materials, policy and permitting usually set the pace rather than the technology. Companies that treat them as compliance overhead lose to companies that treat them as strategy.

Typical mandates: a market-entry decision, a buy-versus-build call, an acquisition thesis, a procurement redesign after a supply shock, or a regulatory engagement plan ahead of a launch.
