Litigation & Disputes

Our Litigation & Disputes unit runs contentious matters. The scope covers commercial and contractual disputes, technology and IP litigation, arbitration including cross-border, regulatory challenges, and pre-action strategy where settlement is the better outcome. As a regulated law firm we conduct the case ourselves rather than instructing someone else to run it.

01 / Overview

What this is.

Most disputes are decided long before a hearing, by what was written in the contract, what was recorded at the time, and how the first three letters were drafted. By the time a claim is filed, much of the outcome is already fixed.

This unit runs contentious matters. Commercial and contractual disputes, technology and IP litigation, arbitration including cross-border, and challenges to regulatory decisions. We are a regulated law firm, so we conduct the case rather than coordinating someone else who does.

The technical dimension is where these cases are usually won. Disputes over software performance, IP ownership in a joint development, data misuse or a failed integration turn on evidence a court needs explained clearly and correctly. Working with our engineering and forensics units, we build that record properly instead of relying on an expert to rescue a weak one.

We are equally direct about settling. Litigation consumes management attention that a scaling company cannot spare, and a commercial resolution is frequently the better result even when the legal position is strong.

Typical mandates: a claim threatened or received, a contractual dispute with a customer or supplier, IP infringement, an arbitration under a cross-border agreement, or pre-action strategy where the goal is a settlement.
