Foresight & Futurology
Our Foresight & Futurology unit works out what is coming and what to do about it. The scope covers horizon scanning, scenario planning, technology scouting and competitive intelligence, built to inform real capital decisions rather than sit in a slide deck. Frontier markets shift faster than planning cycles, so the output is designed to be revisited.

What this is.
Foresight work earns its keep when it changes a decision. Most of it does not. A scan of emerging technologies that nobody acts on is an expensive newsletter, and boards have learned to treat the genre with suspicion.
So this unit works backwards from the decisions in front of you. A capital commitment with a ten-year payback, a build-or-buy call on a technology that may be obsolete, a market that opens only if a regulation passes. Those are the questions worth scanning against.
The methods are ordinary and the discipline is not: horizon scanning across research, patents, funding and policy signals; scenario planning that assigns consequences rather than probabilities; technology scouting to find who is actually building the thing; and competitive intelligence on what your peers have committed to. Output is a small set of positions with trigger points attached, so you know what would have to happen for the plan to change.
Typical mandates: a foresight exercise before a large capital decision, a technology scouting brief, a scenario set for a board strategy session, or an early-warning system for a market where regulation moves faster than the product.
